March 10 Sheriff’s Office Report

These arrests are merely a charge, and he/she is presume innocent until proven guilty.

On 3-10-2019 at 1:17 p.m., Whiteside County Deputies along with Sterling Police conducted a traffic stop on W. 3rd Street near the Avenue K intersection, in Sterling, IL.  During the investigation of the stop, Chase H. VonHolten, age 41 of Sterling, was arrested on an active Whiteside County Warrant for Failure to Appear-Possession of Methamphetamine.  VonHolten was transported to the Whiteside County Jail.

On 3-10-19 at 12:10 p.m., John J. Neese, age 31 of Clinton, IA, was arrested for Driving While License Suspended, following a traffic stop on U. S. Route 30 west of Morrison, IL, for Improper Display of Registration.  Neese was bonded at the Whiteside County Jail, pending his future court appearance.

On 3-04-19 at 4:55 p.m., Christopher D. Smith, age 26 of Chadwick, IL, was stopped in Lyndon, IL, for a registration violation.  He was ultimately arrested for Driving While License Suspended and Failure to Properly Secure Child Under 8.  He was transported to the Whiteside County Jail, processed, and bonded without incident.  Todd’s Towing (Prophetstown) assisted on scene.

On 3-04-19 at 2:33 p.m., Deputies stopped Theron G. Lafkas, age 36 of Villa Park, IL, in Morrison, IL, for Driving While License Suspended.  He was taken into custody, processed at the Whiteside County Jail, and released on bond.
