Manuela “Nellie” Young, 79, of Rock Falls, IL, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2020, at her home.
Nellie was born in Weslaco, TX, on August 12, 1941, the daughter of Esteban and Apollonia (Sandoval) Cantu. She married Steve Young in 1975 in Dixon, IL. Nellie was employed at National Manufacturing for many years. She loved shopping, watching movies, and gambling at the Riverboat.
Survivors include her husband, Steve Young of Rock Falls; daughters, Priscilla (Sonny) Russell of Rock Falls, Norma Vasquez of Washington, and Jodi (Mark) Eastabrooks of Morrison, IL; sons, Lorenzo (Pat) Vasquez of Washington, Rick Vasquez of Rock Falls, and Mike (Lori) Young of Freeport, IL; nine sisters; three brothers; 21 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren.
Nellie was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; and two brothers.
Masks will be required along with social distancing in effect for a public Visitation held on Saturday, August 29, 2020, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., at McDonald Funeral Home, 1002 12th Avenue, Rock Falls, IL.
Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 a.m., with Reverend Richard Russo officiating.
Burial will conclude at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling, IL.
