Four members of a Sauk Valley area, non-profit organization–Make Teal Real (Ovarian Cancer Awareness)–gathered on Tuesday, May 18, 2015, to present a memorial donation to Principal Jennifer Oetting, administrator of Northside School, 520 N. Genesee Street, Morrison, IL. The $5000 is “for further development of the track” which former teacher Pam Bush suggested as her memorial legacy to the school.
Bush envisioned stations along the path, where people of any age would pause to do a fitness activity, for example ten jumping-jacks or hopping on one foot five times. Click here to read her obituary.
This beloved teacher taught 26 years in Morrison; three in Thomson, IL; four in Clinton, IA. “She subbed everywhere,” added her husband, Rod.
Bush passed away from cancer on April 28, 2013, stated her son Brad. He added that after her passing, the family divided memorial monies between the PTO–to build the walking track–and to Morrison Vacation Bible School. Oetting explained the family’s donation has been set aside and is waiting.
Sharing receipt of the donation to implement Pam Bush’s wish for a walking track were, left-to-right, Rod Bush; Principal Oetting; Maggie Jones; Brad Bush; Sandy Grau; Laini Houzenga; Julie Nicklaus (of Dixon, IL.)
