On Monday, May 3, 2021, the Morrison, IL, Main Street Renovation commenced. Willett Hofmann & Associates, Inc., Sterling, IL, will manage this major transformation of the downtown: below the street; at street level; atop sidewalks. City Administrator Barry Dykhuizen will update citizens of each week’s planned work for Monday to Friday.
Construction Activity
● Construction of water main on Main Street from Orange Street to Base Street.
● Existing pavement, sidewalk, curb, and gutter will be removed on Orange Street, from Market Street to U. S. Route 30.
Street Closures
● Orange Street: Market Street to U. S. Route 30 will be closed to traffic.
● Main Street: Orange Street to Base Street will be closed to traffic from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
