“The first section of new curbs and gutters are complete on a section of Orange Street, as the Main Street Renovation Project aggressively moves forward,” Lindsey wrote.
City Administrator Barry Dykhuizen submitted this expected Main Street Redevelopment Project schedule from Monday, June 14, through Friday, June 8. He also listed street closures.
Construction Activity, June 14-June 18
- Lower existing watermains in conflict with new storm sewer at the intersection of Main Street and Base Street.
- Continue to construct sidewalk, ADA ramps, driveways, and curb and gutter along the remainder of Orange Street and on Main Street from Orange Street to Base Street.
- Start installing single-duct main and services for the fiber optic on Main Street from Orange Street to Base Street.
- Construct watermain on Main Street from Genesee Street to Cherry Street.
Street Closures
- Orange Street, from Market Street to U. S. Route 30, and Main Street, from Orange Street to Genesee Street, will be closed.
- Main Street, from Genesee Street to Cherry Street, will be closed from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., when the contractor is working on the watermain.
- Base Street, from U. S. Route 30 to Market Street, will be closed when the contractor is lowering the existing watermains at Main Street and Base Street.
Work Completed June 7 – June 11
- Completed installation of the base coarse aggregate on Main Street, from Orange Street to Base Street.
- Completed some curb and gutter and sidewalk on Orange Street and on Main Street, from Orange Street to Base Street.
- Completed all new water service lines on Main Street, from Base Street to Genesee Street, and on Genesee Street.
- Started constructing storm sewer on Main Street, from Base Street to Genesee Street.
