Lucille Chapin, 105, of Resthave Care & Rehabilitation in Morrison, IL, died Saturday, February 1, 2020, at Resthave.
Lucille was born July 2, 1914, in Joliet, IL, to Victor M. and Helen (Plumley) Hubbard. She was educated in the Fulton, IL, grade schools and was a graduate of Fulton High School On September 16, 1934, she married Clare V. Chapin in Valparaiso, IN. He died on August 26, 2006. Lucille was a homemaker and self-employed piano and organ teacher in Morrison for many years. She was a member of Morrison United Methodist Church. Lucille had a love for cats and dogs.
Survivors include one son, Jere (Nancy) Chapin of Ft. Myers, FL; six grandchildren, Brad (Mary) Chapin, Stacy Chapin, Jennifer (Ti) Aither, Elizabeth (Bob) Gordon, Jane (Randy) Schmiedel, and Mary Louise (Luke) Weber; 12 great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Mary Ellen Chapin of Oshkosh, WI.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clare; sons, Gilbert Allen Chapin and David Kent Chapin in infancy; brother, Donald Appel.
A graveside service will be held at a later date.
The Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
