Lucille C. Dietz, 90, of Harbor Crest Home, Fulton, IL, died Monday, March 13, 2017, at the nursing home.
Lucille was born December 11, 1926, in Clinton, IA, to Walter K. and Elfrieda (Martensen) Biermann. She was a 1944 graduate of Clinton High School. Lucille married Robert H. Dietz on April 11, 1948, in Clinton; he preceded her in death on March 30, 1974. She was a homemaker. Early in their marriage, Lucille and Robert farmed in the rural Clinton area. She then was employed by Bob’s Certified Groceries in Fulton. Most recently she had worked at Johnnie’s Tap, also in Fulton. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Clinton. Lucille enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, crocheting, and reading. She was an avid Cubs fan.
Survivors include two daughters, Trish (Dave) Shear and Kathy (Rod) Hamm, both of Fulton; two sons, John (Mary Joe Dykstra) Dietz of Clinton and Mike Dietz of Fulton; ten grandchildren, Robbie Dietz, Jamie Dietz, Amie (Kurt) Miller, Mandie Dietz, Tim Dietz, Amber Turner, Liz (Glenn) Hager, Ashley (Wes) Johnson, Zach Hamm, Alex Hamm; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Evelyn Haas of Morrison, IL; one brother, Gene (Gloria) Biermann of Clinton; one daughter-in-law, Judy Dietz of Decatur, IL; one son-in-law, Bob Turner of Fulton; one sister-in-law, Carol Biermann of NJ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; one daughter, Barb Turner; two sons, Thomas Allen Dietz and Robert J. Dietz; three brothers, Walter K. Biermann, Jr., Richard A. Biermann, and Robert F. Biermann.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 17, 2017, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home
OFFICIATING: Rev. Edie Lenz, Pastor of First Reformed Church in Fulton, IL
VISITATION: 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service, Friday, March 17, 2017, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home
INTERMENT: Clinton Lawn Cemetery in Clinton, IA
