Louise E. Stralow (1932 – 2025)

Louise E. Stralow, 92, of Morrison, IL, died Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Rock River Hospice & Home in Sterling, IL.

Louise was born October 13, 1932, in Bryant, IA, to Hans H. C. and Margaret E. (Slaymaker) Koester.  She was educated in the Erie Grade Schools and graduated from Erie High School, before attending Augusta College in Rock Island, IL.  On September 12, 1954, Louise married Arnold C. Stralow in Erie, IL  They shared their lives for over 66 years, until Arnold’s passing on December 18, 2020.  Louise was first employed at GE in Morrison before becoming a homemaker.  She was a member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church-LCMS in Morrison and was deeply involved in church activities.  She taught Sunday School, participated in the Ladies Aide, and contributed to various church activities.  Louise enjoyed gardening and sewing.

Survivors include her sons, Craig (Wendy) Stralow and Mark (Karen) Stralow both of Morrison; eight grandchildren, Chad (Amanda) Beldin, Steven (Kjerstina) Morris, Patti Imel, Nathan (Erica) Stralow, Justin (Angela) Stralow, John (Jessica) Housinga, Melissa (Michael) Landers, and Sara Near; 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Leola Woodworth of Prophetstown, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arnold; daughter, Marcia Stralow; sister; two sisters-in-law; six brothers-in-law; nephew.

A Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m., until the time of the Funeral service at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church-LCMS, in Morrison, IL.  Pastor Mark Peters and Pastor Chad Bohlson, interim Pastors at St. Peter Lutheran Church, will co-officiate.

Following the service, a Graveside Ceremony will take place at 2:00 p.m., at Oak Knoll Memorial Cemetery in Sterling, IL.

The Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
