Louella L. Engelkens, 78, of Sterling, died on Friday, September 15, 2023, at CGH Medical Center of Sterling, IL.
She was born on March 18, 1945, in Morrison, IL, the daughter of Jake and Abbie (Peoples) Engelkens. She attended Malvern Grade Schools and was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church of Rock Falls, IL. Louella was an avid Chicago Bears and Chicago Bulls fan. She loved her family very much and will be missed dearly.
She is survived by her daughter, Lynn Engelkens; brothers, Paul (Cindy) Engelkens of Morrison, Jim (Gayle) Engelkens of Rock Falls, Wayne Engelkens of Chadwick, IL; many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Carrie Cartwright, Alfretta Meurs, Mary Lou Huggins, Elsie Pfister, Marjorie Ennenback, and Beverly Seavey; brothers, Jake Jr., Merle, and Okko Engelkens; special nephew, Al Engelkens.
A Visitation will take place from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at McDonald Funeral Home of Rock Falls, IL.
A Funeral service will follow the Visitation at the funeral home and take place at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Dalmus Meeks, of Harvest Time Bible Church, officiating.
Burial will follow the services at the funeral home and take place at Riverside Cemetery of Sterling, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established.
