LonRicheySmallAttorney at Law Lon M. Richey opened his own office, at 225 E. Main Street, Morrison, IL, on February 4, 2019.  His new location is three buildings to the east of his long-time partnership with Nelson, Kilgus, Richey, and Buckwalter-Schurman, at 209 E. Main.  In late December 2018, Richey left the firm under a mutually amicable agreement.  This was due to the nature of his chief client–the State of Illinois.

Richey serves as Special Assistant Attorney General.  The Attorney General is the legal counsel for State agencies, including the Governor.  The lion’s share of Richey’s work is for Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT.)  His initial appointment was granted by Attorney General Jim Ryan; he served two, four-year terms (1995-2003.)  Richey served four terms under Lisa Madigan (2003-2019.)  He currently serves under Attorney General Kwame Raoul.
