The Mustang Wrestling Team was back in action on Thursday evening in the MHS gymnasium. The Mustangs hosted two conference opponents, Putnam County and Riverdale.
The Bureau Valley Storm were hot from the beyond the three-point arch and hit nine three-pointers in route to a 63-55 win ovr the Morrison Mustangs. The six point second quarter put the Mustangs in too deep of a deficit that the second half advantage wasn’t enough to catch the
Lakin Goodman outscored the Fulton Lady Steamers by herself, as the Morrison Fillies added another win to the record.
The morrison Fillies dug a first quarter hole and fought hard but couldn’t make up the difference resulting in a 45-42 loss to the Rockridge Rockets.
The Morrison Fillies opened a fourteen point lead after one quarter and never looked back to earn the win over the Stockton Lady Blackhawks 49-28.
The Morison Mustangs opened the 13th Annual Cliff Warkins Memorial Cardinal Classic at Erie High School by topping the Lena-Winslow Panthers 43-42.
The undefeated (10-0) Freeport Aquin Bulldogs were too much for the Morrison Mustangs in the opening round of the Forreston Holiday Tourney.
Tha Morrison Mustangs were slowed by a Proophetstown zone, but inched out their first conference win at Prohetstown 39-36.
