Following a one day delay due to weather, the Morrison Fillies continued action Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at the Cliff Warkins Memorial Classic Holiday Tournament in Erie, IL, with an adjusted schedule. Fillies Falter Against Geese

The Morrison Fillies ended the first day of the Cliff Warkins Memorial Classic Holiday Tournament, on Saturday, December 26, 2015, with a 52-45 loss to the Kewanee[, IL,] Wethersfield Lady Geese.

Boilermakers Use Free Throws over Fillies

The Morrison High School Fillies Basketball team was able to outscore the Kewanee, IL, Lady Boilermakers from the field.  The local team, however, sent the Boilermakers to the free throw line 33 times, where they converted on 22 (67%) of the gifts.

Fillies Top Chargers

The Morrison Fillies Basketball team used 90% free throw shooting to stop the Orion, IL, Chargers Monday night, December 14, 2015, with a 43-35 win.

Filles Add a Win at Milledgeville

The Morrison Fillies earned win number three on the young season, by topping the Lady Missiles of Milledgeville, IL, 39-35. Struggling at the free throw line (36%) put extra pressure on the Fillies, but balanced scoring from six players made the difference.

Girls Tourney Shortened by Weather

Morrison High School, 643 Genesee Avenue, Morrison, IL, hosted a Girls Basketball tourney featuring Varsity and Fresh-Soph competition.  But the early winter snow storm shortened the games as two Friday, November 20, 2015, and all Saturday, November 21, games were canceled.

Tournament Times Changed for November 21

Regarding the Morrison High School Girls Basketball tournament set for Saturday, November 21, 2015, Morrison Athletic Director Gregg Dolan submitted this change in “plan for tomorrow.  We will cancel the trophy round of the Fresh/Soph side of the tournament and move the pool play games to noon and 1:30 p.m. 

Late Seconds Defeat Fillies

The Kewanee, IL, Wethersfield Lady Geese were the guests for the final regular season game with the Morrison High School Fillies on Saturday, February 7, 2015.  The lead never exceeded four points by either team, and the Geese flew south with a 42-40 win.

Fillies Gallop Away from Rams

Four Morrison High School girls scored in double figures against the Port Byron, IL, Riverdale Rams on Thursday, February 5, 2015.  The Fillies came out of the corral and built a 21-3 first quarter lead.  They extended that to 37-8 by half.

Lady Prophets Top Fillies

Prophetstown’s Corrie Reiley outscored the entire Morrison Fillies five in the first half to establish an unsurmountable advantage to lead the Phophets to a 58-43 conference win.

Pressure Stops Fillies

The Rockridge Lady Rockets of Taylor Ridge, IL, used full court pressure to force 21 first-half turnovers and put the Fillies into a hole.  They were unable to climb out.

Cards Slip by Fillies

Big second quarters by Morrison’s Lakin Goodman (7 points) and Erie’s Cox (10 points) ended up creating the difference in a 36-29 Morrison loss to Erie, IL.  The difference was the support that Erie teammates supplied to overcome a first quarter deficit (9-6) and earn a halftime lead (23-18). Both
