Post Season at Sports Complex

Morrison spring round ball season turns to the post season, in an effort to make the run to the IHSA State Baseball and Softball Finals. Both the Mustangs and the Fillies will make the path to the finals through action scheduled at the Morrison Sports Complex.

Mustangs Go 11-0 in TRAC

Joey Brackemyer throws a seven inning one-hitter and the Mustang offense pounds out twelve hits to earn the eleventh conference win against no losses.

Morrison Invitational The Morrison Mustangs enjoyed a beautiful spring basbell-type day with two tune-up wins in their own invitational at the Morrison Sports Complex on Saturday.

Playing for the Wounded Warriors, both Fulton and Morrison played a good baseball game, with Morrison crossing the plate in the seventh and final innning, to earn a 1-0 Conference victory.

Greul Controls the Clippers

Bill Lee Greul faced only two batters over the minimum by allowing one hit and striking out nine as the Morrison Mustangs needed only five innings to take home a 17-1 conference win.

Mustangs Stumble Late

    The Morrison Mustangs were in control of the Kewanee Boilermakers behind the ten strikeouts in five innings pitching by Joey Brackemyer when the wheels fell in the seventh innings.

The weather finally reacted Spring-like and the Morrison Mustangs handed the Newman Comets a 7-3 loss in the fisrt home game of the 2014 season.  

Youth Baseball and Softball Changes

At its January 2014 meeting, the Morrison Little League Board voted to consolidate the various baseball and softball programs in Morrison, IL, with the goals of increasing participation, lowering costs, and facilitating administration.  The new umbrella organization is called Morrison Youth Baseball & Softball.

Morrison Sluggers Win Tournament

The 9-10 year old Morrison Sluggers went undefeated last month to win the Prophetstown tournament.  Morrison Sluggers are coached by Brock Helms.  Assisting during the tournament were Andy Harridge and Jason Smith.

Mustangs Drop Regional Final

The Morrison Regional Finals featured two of the elite teams in the area and two of the elite lefties and the trophy was taken by Erie-Prophetstown after a 1-0 win oover the Morrison Mustangs.

Late Offense Tops Fulton

Fulton’s Ethan Jones was in perfect controol of the Morrison Mustangs for the first three innings, but couldn’t hold the Mustangs as Morrison advanced to the Regional finals with a 5-3 win.

No Offense vs Sterling

The scheduled game against Forreston-Polo and the Morrison Mustangs was changed to a friendly match between two former teammates and stars from Rock Falls High School. 

Hope Remians for Title

The Morrison Mustangs bought a little hope in retaining the 6th conference title in a row by knocking off conference leader Erie-Prophetstown Monday night 10-4.
