Living Proof Exhibit will present its annual exhibition of cancer survivor art now through Sunday, December 9, 2018, at the Figge Art Museum’s Mary Waterman Gildehaus Community Gallery on the second floor. The museum is located at 225 W. Second Street, Davenport, IA. The exhibition, “A Visualization of Hope,” features more than 50 pieces of art created by cancer survivors in the Tri-State area.
“This year’s exhibition includes a wider variety of mediums than ever before,” said Pamela Crouch, Executive Director of Living Proof Exhibit. “Our incredibly talented artists show that there are no boundaries when it comes to expressing the feelings experienced during the cancer journey.”
Living Proof Exhibit will also present two, free programs associated with the exhibition, which are free and open to anyone whose life has been impacted by cancer. Registration is required for both programs. Register at livingproofexhibit@gmail.com.
- Ryan Collins, Executive Director of the Midwest Writing Center, will lead a writing session from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., on Thursday, September 13. Participants will use the artwork in the exhibition as inspiration. The first 100 attendees will receive a journal.
- Art therapist Dana Keaton will lead a session of meditation and creative painting, writing, wine, remembrance, and celebration, for all who have been touched by cancer, including survivors, families, friends, and caregivers.
“A Visualization of Hope” is sponsored by ABC Lymphedema Clinic, Forever Me Cancer Specialty Boutique, and The Singh Group.
