With all the treats and trimmings, did you have time to treat yourself this holiday season? Let the Morrison Grand Squares help. Modern Western Square Dancing is fun, fitness, and friendship set to music. If you can walk, you can square dance. The Morrison Grand Squares’ sixth dance season is beginning with a kick-off event on Monday, January 6, 2014, at the City of Morrison’s Community Room, 307 S. Madison, Morrison, IL. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.; at 7:00 there will be a free introduction to the joys of Square Dancing.
Generally, lessons are Monday evenings and run through mid-April, with Don Sprosty from the Quad Cities calling. Basic/Beginner lessons are from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Odell Public Library. This activity is for singles, couples, and families (probably ages 8 and up.) If you do not have a partner, the Grand Squares will provide you with a dance partner.
If your New Year’s Resolutions included a happier, healthier life–take Square Dance lessons. The fun and laughter is there, and the dancing is exercise without really noticing.
Have fun, improve your fitness, and expand your friendships.
If you intend to come to the kick-off event, we would appreciate a call or email, so we can make sure there are enough refreshments. Contact us through http://www.squaredancemorrison.com or call Butch and Ann VanderSchaaf at 815-772-3616 or Marilyn Oncken at 815-772-7065.
