Candy Day was held Friday, October 13, and Saturday, October 14. This fundraiser supports Lions of Illinois Foundation and our local club, in meeting vision and hearing needs; Camp Lions for visual and hearing handicapped children and adults; mobile vision and hearing buses; other related programs. We extend a big thank you to all individuals and business owners who supported Candy Day 2017.

A donation to CGH Eyeglasses for Kids Program was approved for vision assistance to 18 children from Morrison, IL, in the past year. A donation to Eversight was also approved; Eversight is supported by Lions. Eversight supplies donor tissue needed for eye surgeries.

Morrison Lions Club was recognized recently by the Illinois Department of Transportation, for 20 years of service with the Adopt-A-Highway program. On Saturday morning, October 21, volunteers completed the fall pickup of debris. The one mile stretch on both sides [of the Lincoln Highway] yielded ten big bags of trash.  Shown left-to-right are, front row, Darlene Smith, Denice Smith, Jim Blakemore; middle row, Aaron Johnson, Jim Ridley, Ken Jansma; back row, Kelvin Tenboer, Steve Wroble, Beth Wroble.
