Lillian G. Unger, 97, of Resthave Home in Morrison, IL, died Thursday, September 13, 2018, at Resthave Home.
Lillian was born in Morrison on August 29, 1921, to Edwin D. and Mary (Engelkens) Glazier. She was a 1939 graduate of Morrison High School and a graduate of Scovill Business College in Sterling, IL. She married Delbert S. Unger on July 24, 1942, in Fenton, IL. He died July 31, 1991. Lillian worked for Interstate Power Company in Clinton, IA. She had also worked for the Savanna Ordinance Company in Savanna, IL, and John Deere Company in Moline, IL. She retired in 1981 after working 12 years as an Administrative Secretary at Resthave Home in Morrison. She was a trustee for Mt. Pleasant Township for over 19 years and also loved volunteering for many years as a teacher’s aide at Northside Elementary School. Lillian was a member of Emmanuel Reformed Church in Morrison.
Survivors include a grandson, Bruce (Karen) Unger of Peoria, IL; a granddaughter, Lesley (Chad) Dever of Dixon, IL; five great-grandchildren, Megan, Jack, and Katie Unger and Jozi and Eli Dever; one daughter-in-law, Vicki (Ron) Wiebenga of Morrison; many nieces and nephews.
Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert; two sons, Danny Unger and Bruce Unger, Sr.; four sisters, Marie Conner, Irene Bush, Marjorie Rhoads, and Reva Armstrong; one brother, George Glazier.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 17, 2018, at Emmanuel Reformed Church in Morrison, IL, with Rev. Rich Davis officiating.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, September 16, 2018, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.
Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL.
