Letter from MHS Post-Prom Committee

Posted by

Dear Morrison Community Member:

Morrison High School’s Post-Prom Committee hopes that 2021 is off to a good start for you, your families, and your businesses across Morrison, IL.  We recognize that the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic have adversely affected families’ budgets and businesses’ bottom lines during the past year.

Morrison’s Class of 2021 students, like last year’s Seniors, have experienced remote learning, postponement of the traditional sports and activities schedule, and many other modifications to the traditional school experience.  Through the combined efforts of school administrators and staff, parents, and students, the learning process has moved forward amid the challenges of the past 11 months.

Assuming that the COVID-19 situation continues to improve this spring (or summer) and that larger-group events can move forward, Morrison High School hopes to provide students with a traditional High School Prom and Post-Prom event.  Post-Prom is presently scheduled for the night of Saturday, April 24/early morning of Sunday, April 25, at the TBK Bank Sports Complex (also known as the BettPlex) in Bettendorf, IA.  The venue offers recreational opportunities in a safe, supervised environment following the Prom.

To defray costs of the event, the Post-Prom Committee seeks both monetary donations and in-kind donations from parents, relatives, and community members.  This will reduce the out-of-pocket costs to students who wish to attend Post-Prom at the BettPlex.

If you are able to make a donation to offset the costs of the Post-Prom event, please contact Morrison Community Unit School District #6 staff members Brian Bartoz and Tracy Henson for more information:

To donate to Post-Prom by check, make it payable to Morrison High School.  Please indicate Post-Prom Account on the memo line for record keeping purposes.  Checks can be mailed to Morrison High School, 643 Genesee Avenue, Morrison, IL, 61270.
