Leora Mae Beveroth, 89, of Sterling, IL, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, April 3, 2017, surrounded by her family.
Leora was born June 7, 1927, in Sterling, the daughter of Roy J. and Olga (Buhrow) Wolber. She married Herman Beveroth on June 6, 1948, at First Lutheran Church of Jordan. He preceded her in death on May 24, 2014. Leora was a lifelong member of First Lutheran Church of Jordan, serving as President of WELCA, and always enjoyed fellowship and coffee with her circle group. Leora loved gardening and flowers, and was a wonderful baker of pies, cookies, and her cinnamon rolls. She enjoyed growing up on a farm and being a farm wife. Most of all, she loved and enjoyed her family.
She is survived by her four children, Teresa (Greg) Hummel, of Evanston, IL, Neil (Debora) Beveroth, LuAnn (John) Gvozdjak, Brian (Paula) Beveroth, all of Sterling; eight grandchildren, Andrea (Keith) Knohl of Evanston, Brandon (Kyla) Hummel, of Glenview, IL, Nicole (Troy) Frampton, of Milledgeville, IL, Lucas (Becky) Beveroth, of Roscoe, IL, Amanda (Mark Baron) of Morrison, IL, Amelia (Jon) Meyer of Rock Island, IL, Andrew (Lauren Baker) Beveroth of Sterling, and Katarina Gvozdjak of Sterling; ten great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Linda (Myron) Deets of Sterling.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; one sister Lucille (Frank) Wolber; one niece, Sara Moran.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 7, 2017, at First Lutheran Church of Jordan, with Pastor Jamie Gallagher, officiating.
Burial will be at Maple Ridge Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 6, 2017, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Schilling Funeral Home and Cremation, Sterling, IL, and from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 7, prior to services at the church.
A memorial has been established to First Lutheran Church of Jordan and Hospice of the Rock River Valley.
