LentenCrossesDuring the Lenten Season, Christians reflect on Jesus Christ:  His suffering and His sacrifice, His life, death, burial, and resurrection.

Lent begins every year on Ash Wednesday and lasts for six weeks.  The last week of Lent is Holy Week.  It starts on Palm Sunday and culminates on Easter Sunday, the celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

During Holy Week, several meaningful and special services are planned at Ebenezer Reformed Church, 309 E. Park Street, in Morrison, IL.

You are invited to celebrate the Easter Season with us.

The Palm Sunday worship service, April 14, at 9:30 a.m., will include a processional by children, with palm branches waving in excitement.  Worship leader will be Pamela Rohde, from North Ridge Church in Eldridge, IA.  Under the direction of Morrison High School and Junior High Music Teacher Stephanie Bergland, an ensemble of Morrison High School students will sing “All Glory, Laud and Honor.”  Coffee and pastries will be served afterwards.

Maundy Thursday, April 18, service begins at 6:00 p.m. with a light supper and includes the celebration of Holy Communion.

Coffee and pastries will be served at 8:30 a.m., before the Easter Sunday, April 21, service at 9:30.  The joyful celebration of the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be led by Ken Renkes.  This service will feature music by the Celebration Choir, under the direction of Stephanie Bergland.  Fellowship will follow.  There also will be a children’s Egg Hunt after the service.
