From 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., Still Cruisin’ Line Dancers will offer six classes in basic line dance, beginning Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at Resthave Home, 408 Maple Avenue, Morrison, IL. The classes are free, and each week’s session will teach new steps. Instructor Nancy Potter works under the auspices of Sterling Senior Center. Lessons are for any age adult.
Each class will be repeated at 2:00 p.m. on the following Sunday, except for May 7.
The first lesson teaches four skills:
- step-touch
- grapevine
- walking backward
- scuff turn.
Because dancers need to slide their feet, a leather sole or boot is best. A sock can be slipped over one’s tennis shoe to provide glide.
Music selections with a wonderful beat will be from the 1940’s and earlier and from the 50’s and 60’s.
Contact Potter at 815-499-9118 for more information.
