Watch this two minute video on Mindful Self-Compassion.
What is Self-Compassion? Self-compassion entails being warm and understanding toward ourselves when we suffer, fail, or feel inadequate, rather than ignoring our pain or engaging in harsh self-criticism.
How does self-compassion compare to self-esteem? Self-esteem refers to our sense of self-worth, perceived value, or how much we like ourselves. It relies on self-evaluations and self-judgments, which can often be negative and severe.
Using guided meditations, experiential practices, and on-the-spot techniques, this program will help you to build a strong foundation of self-compassion in your daily life. Learn exercises drawn from the empirically-supported Mindful Self-Compassion Training program, developed by Drs. Kristin Neff and Chris Germer.
