The Loft on Main, 112 E. Main Street, Morrison, IL, hosted its monthly social gathering, “Third Thursday,” on August 19, 2021. Before doors open, from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. the public is invited to relax in conversation with free coffee, tea/juice, and homemade treats. Visitors are encircled by hundreds of original artworks, displayed floor-to-ceiling and into the upstairs loft!
Special Guests were Whiteside County Sheriff John Booker and Morrison Chief of Police Brian Melton. From left, spiraling to right, are Sharon Boyles, Nan Carlson, Sheriff Booker, Chief Melton, Mike Hemmer, and Mayor Scott Vandermyde. Pat McGarvey missed the photo; the Editor also “attended.”
Third Thursdays offer a pleasant opportunity for our residents to meet in a friendly environment and chat. Stop in for a few minutes before heading to your morning tasks. Make this a breakfast or brunch stop. You never know who you might meet!
Invite a companion to share the morning with Special Guests to spark conversation: November 18 – Illinois State Representative Tony McCombie; December 16 – Mayor Scott Vandermyde and possibly members of City Offices. (September and October guests are being arranged.)
Come in and say hello! If the front entrance is not yet accessible in September, due to Main Street construction, the back door (from E. Lincolnway) will be open. Please use caution along the Lincolnway sidewalk.
