Larry L. Wiersema, 71, of Morrison, IL, died Friday, July 1, 2022, at Mercy One Medical Center in Clinton, IA.
Larry was born August 6, 1950, in Morrison, IL, to Marvin and Florence (Boelkens) Wiersema. He was educated in the Nelson, IL grade schools and was a 1968 graduate of Rock Falls High School. Larry served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He married Janice Louise Forth on October 26, 1974, in Morrison. He drove a feed truck for Wayne Feeds in Rock Falls while in high school and worked at the L and M Service Station in Morrison. He then owned and operated Wiersema Charter Service in Morrison. He was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison and the Morrison American Legion Post #328. Larry’s greatest joy in life was driving bus and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Jan; two sons, Eric (Lisa) Wiersema of Morrison and Gregg (Jackie) Wiersema of Chadwick, IL; four grandchildren, Hailey and Matthew Wiersema, Alicen and Cooper Wiersema; three sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents; nephew, Nolan Richmond.
His Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, July 8, 2022, at Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison, IL, with Ken Renkes officiating.
A Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 7, 2022, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.
Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL.
A memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society.
