Kurt P. Ricker, 62, of Erie, IL, died unexpectedly Friday, September 2, 2016, at his home.
Kurt was born on May 12, 1954, in Chicago, IL, the son of Harry and Roberta Ricker. He married his best friend and golf partner, Donna James on May 15, 1998. Kurt worked at Sterling Gear in Deer Grove, IL, and was currently self-employed, operating GRN Marketing. He was an avid golfer, loved NASCAR, was a loyal Kansas City Chiefs fan, and would pull for the Bears on a good day. He claimed to be the best card player east of the Mississippi. Kurt loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Donna; children, John (Tia) Ricker, Largo, FL, James (Michelle) Ricker, Springhill, FL, Janice (Joe) Loeding, Crystal Lake, IL, Jackie (Kevin) Mortier, Logansport, IN, Cherish (Al) LaMarche, Morrison, IL, Stephanie (Joe) Sherman, Golden, CO; grandchildren, Jacqueline, Jeremy, Shea, Johnny, and Logan Ricker, Rachel and Joey Loeding, Austin and Kira Miller, Jacob (Adrianne), Joshua, and Jeremiah LaMarche, CJ and Teagan Sherman; great-grandchildren, Jaelynn and Lilly LaMarche; sisters, Charlene Fike and Kathy (Mike) O’Callaghan; brother, Keith (Kim) Ricker; sisters-in-law, Pam (Mark) Marinangeli, Jodie (Philip) Peterson; brother-in-law, Brad (Carole) James.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Karl Ricker.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, September 10, 2016, at Gibson-Bode Funeral Home, Erie, IL.
Private family Memorial Services will be held at a later time.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kurt P. Ricker Memorial Fund.
