Bob Brands of Morrison, IL, will be guest speaker at the Morrison Historical Society program on Sunday, September 25, 2016. He will share his experiences as a veteran of the Korean War. Doors to Morrison’s Heritage Museum, 202 E. Lincolnway, Morrison, open at 1:00 p.m., with Brands’s presentation starting at 1:30.
On Saturday, July 27, 2013, Brands was invited to to Washington, D. C., to attend the 60th Anniversary of the signing of the Korean War Armistice. Read about his recognition as one of the “Heroes Remembered.”
The museum is accessible to everyone, with a ramp in the north parking lot. Refreshments will be served.
The weekend before, Morrison Historical Society has a treat for the public, during Paint the Town, Saturday, September 17. Look for their Ice Cream Social. Members will serve homemade pies and cakes and Kenny VenHuizen’s scrumptious, handmade ice cream. Listen for his on-site, “hit-and-miss” engine churning the creamy goodness. Sweets will be served from noon until sellout.
