Kewanee Boilermakers’ Johnson and Morrison Mustangs’ Joey Brackemyer hooked up in a pitcher’s duel in Kewanee, IL, on Friday, April 29, 2016. Kewanee earned the win on the no-hit effort by Johnson.
Johnson pitched six innigs and held the Mustangs hitless, while striking out 15 and walking two. Brackemyer was almost as efficient, allowing only four hits and striking out seven. But a one-run third inning was all the Boilermakers needed to send Morriison home with a loss.
Kewanee’s lone run of the ballgame came in the third inning, on an RBI double by Vandersampel.
