Kent W. Foreman, 89, of Morrison, IL, died Monday, November 9, 2015, at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Morrison.
Kent was born February 11, 1926, in Sterling, IL, to Edwin and Maybelle (Peterson) Foreman. He was educated in the Morrison Country Schools and was a 1944 graduate of Morrison High School. Kent was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps during WWII, serving in the First Marine Division on the Pacific front, from April 1944 to May 1946. He married Margaret “Peggy” J. Kelly on February 5, 1949 in Morrison. Kent was a crane operator at the Northwestern Steel and Wire Company for 30 years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Morrison V.F.W. and the Morrison Country Club.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret “Peggy”; one daughter, Angela (Keith) Pickens of Chandler, AZ; one son, Mitchell (Deborah) Foreman of Sterling; one son-in-law, Don Afman of Moline, IL; six grandsons, Matt (Teresa) Pickens, Mitchell (Candy) Pickens, Cameron Foreman, Lee (Nicole) Foreman, Korey (Brittany) Foreman, and Christopher Afman; eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Kellie Afman; one brother, Hudson Foreman; one sister, Denesse Yohn.
