Kenneth F. Landheer, 89, of Morrison, IL, died Thursday, September 3, 2015, at his home.
Ken was born February 12, 1926, in Sterling, IL, to John H. and Caroline W. “Carrie” (Dombroski) Landheer. He was educated in the rural Whiteside County grade schools. Ken served in the U. S. Army. He married Ardith J. Brandt on December 31, 1945, in Sterling. Ken was engaged in farming in the Coleta/Morrison area and drove a bulk fuel truck for various local fuel companies. He performed rural delivery of the Sterling Gazette newspaper, along with his grandson, Adam, for 20 years. Ken was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Sterling, serving on the church board and as a deacon. He enjoyed gardening, lawn mowing, going to auction sales, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Ken also enjoyed driving his “Four Wheeled Mule.”
Survivors include his wife, Ardith; two daughters, Deb (Milt) Kregar of Sterling and Mary Landheer of Rockford, IL; two sons, Steve Landheer and Tom (Trudy) Landheer, both of Morrison; three grandchildren, Jennifer Kregar, Adam (Tricia) Landheer, and Amy (John Sumption) Landheer; four great-grandchildren, Tobias and Maxim Knapp, Vivienne Chavira, and Chloe Landheer; one sister, Donna (Bob) Bierman of Morrison.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

VISITATION: 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 9, 2015, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home
