Kenneth A. “Skeeter” Jones, 86, of Morrison, IL, died Wednesday, October 21, 2015, at Resthave Nursing Home in Morrison.
Skeeter was born August 15, 1929, in Sterling, IL, to Guy E. and Hazel (James) Jones. He was educated in the White Pigeon School of rural Whiteside County, IL. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. On November 15, 1958, he married Patricia “Molly” Kelly in Morrison. She died October 12, 2014. Skeeter was engaged in farming in the rural Morrison area and was also employed by the township road maintenance department. He was a member of Morrison American Legion Post #328. He enjoyed spending time with his family and mowing his lawn.
Survivors include one daughter, Terri (Gary) Morgan of DeWitt, IA; one son, Steve (Rana) Jones of Morrison; three grandchildren, Lindsey (Justin) Wagner, Courtney Morgan, Laini (Zach) Houzenga; two great-grandchildren, Morgan Wagner and Cooper Houzenga.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Molly; one sister, LaVonne Holland; two brothers, Clark and Glenn Jones.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 26, 2015, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home
OFFICIATING: Ken Renkes, Director of Congregational Care at Ebenezer Reformed Church, Morrison, IL
VISITATION: 9:00 a.m., Monday, October 26, 2015, until the time of the service, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home
INTERMENT: Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, IL
