Kathryn J. Damhoff, 95, of Resthave Nursing Home in Morrison, IL, formerly of Fulton, IL, died Friday, December 18, 2015, at the home.
Kathryn was born February 26, 1920, in Fulton, to William J. and Reka (Pessman) Buikema. She was educated in the Fulton Grade School. On February 22, 1941, she married Bernard G. Damhoff in Clinton, IA. He died August 3, 2005. Kathryn farmed along with her late husband in the rural Garden Plain and Union Grove areas in Whiteside County. She was a charter member of the former Trinity Reformed Church in Fulton and participated in the Priscilla Circle. She was also a member of the Whiteside County Farm Bureau. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and canning.
Survivors include two daughters, Marcia (Dean) Brackemyer and Linda (Randy) Venema, both of Fulton; two sons, Arnie (Linda) Damhoff and Gerald (Sandy) Damhoff, both of Morrison; ten grandchildren, Lisa (Robert) Outzen, Renee (Jason) Kuehl, Shelly Foley, Brian (Dori) Venema, Nathan (Shannon) Venema, Brad (Kim) Venema, Katie (Curt) Buis, Scott Damhoff, Mike Damhoff, Ryan Damhoff; 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard, and one sister, Jeanette Schaver.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 22, 2015, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home
OFFICIATING: Ken Renkes, Director of Congregational Care at Ebenezer Reformed Church
VISITATION: 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, December 21, 2015, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home
INTERMENT: Fulton Township Cemetery, Fulton, IL
