Karen S. Magana, 53, of Morrison, IL, died Wednesday, June 6, 2018, near Thomson, IL.
Karen was born September 18, 1964, in Morrison to Ivan Joe and Marsha A. (Paschal) Kaufman. She was a 1982 graduate of Morrison High School and received her Associate’s degree in nursing from Sauk Valley Community College in Dixon, IL. She married Alex J. Magana on February 20, 1993, in Rock Falls, IL. Karen was employed as a Registered Nurse in various local employment. Most recently she was employed by Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center in Davenport, IA. Karen enjoyed reading, crocheting, quilting, listening to music, cooking, baking, and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Alex; her mother, Marsha Kaufman of Morrison; one daughter, Rachel Magana of Morrison; one son, Gregory Magana of New York, NY; two stepdaughters, Claire Bianco of Sterling, IL, and Anne Kowal of Aurora, IL; two sisters, Kelli (Dragan) Petrovic and Susan (Philip) Joines both of Morrison; two brothers, Mike (Tina) Kaufman of Morrison and Jeff (Laura) Kaufman of Carmel, IN.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Kaufman.
The funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 14, 2018, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, with Pastor Robert Livsey officiating.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.
Cremation Rites will be accorded.
A memorial has been established by the family.
