Karen A. Shrum, 74, of Cordova, IL, died Monday, January 23, 2017, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline, IL.
Karen was born December 31, 1942, in Cordova, the daughter of Kenneth and Pauline (Massey) Glazier. She married William Shrum in Morrison, IL. She was a cook for Riverdale High School for 25 years. She enjoyed her card club for many years. Before her decline in health she loved to go fishing, and she enjoyed gardening and canning.
Karen is survived by her husband, Bill, Cordova; daughter, Cheryl Shrum; son, Dale (Jen) Shrum; grandson, Lowden Shrum; step-grandson, Trey DeMeyer, all of Cordova; brothers, Rich (Nancy) Glazier, Morrison, Les Glazier, Erie, IL; sister, Donna (Richard) Jones, Prophetstown, IL; sister-in-law, Janet Glazier, Thompson, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Annette Shrum, in infancy; brother, Alvie Glazier; sister-in-law, Marge Glazier; nephew, Rusty Jones.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, January 26, 201,7 at Gibson-Bode Funeral Home, Port Byron, IL.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., on Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at the funeral home.
Burial will follow in Lusk Cemetery, Albany, IL.
Memorials may be made to the Hope Creek Care Center or the First Baptist Church, Cordova, IL.
