Juveniles Charged in High School Incidents

Morrison Chief of Police Brian Melton and Whiteside County State’s Attorney Trish Joyce announce that two male juveniles have been charged, following an investigation conducted by the Morrison Police Department.

The investigation was of incidents that occurred at the Morrison High School during the period of Sunday, July 14, to Thursday, July 18, 2013.  During this time period, persons entered various structures of the Morrison High School to include the school, concession stand, and the football field “crow’s nest.”  To gain entry, damage was done to the concession stand and “crow’s nest.”  Also during this time, various concession stand items and four Apple iPads were taken from the high school.

As a result of the investigation, the following juveniles were charged:

Male Juvenile, Age 16 of Morrison, IL,   

  • Felony Theft
  • Theft
  • Criminal Trespass (two counts)

Male Juvenile, Age 15 of Erie, IL,       

  • Felony Theft
  • Theft
  • Criminal Trespass (two counts)

Both juveniles will appear in Juvenile Court on Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at 9:00 a.m.

The public is reminded that these are merely charges, and all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
