Junemarie (Deutsch) Zinnen, age 88, of Dixon, IL, died Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at Liberty Court in Dixon.
She was born June 1, 1928, in Aurora, IL, the daughter of Frank and Rosanne (Cunningham) Deutsch. She had been employed as a secretary at Commonwealth Edison Co. in Dixon and at the Dixon Teachers Credit Union from 1964 until 1996. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Dixon, where she volunteered with the Loaves and Fishes program, and also was a Playground Supervisor at St. Mary’s School. She was a member of the Dixon Public Library Board. She married to William Zinnen November 20, 1954, in St. Patrick Catholic Church in Dixon. He preceded her in death March 7, 2010.
Survivors include her six children, Mark (Jean) Zinnen, of Morrison, IL, Thomas (Kristen Velyvis) Zinnen of Madison, WI, David (Tami) Zinnen of Woodstock, IL, Elizabeth (Scott) Albert of Wheaton, IL, Daniel (Cheryl) Zinnen of Wheaton, Nancy (Phil) Mercer of Dixon, and Raymond (Angela) Zinnen of Springfield, IL; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchilden; one brother-in-law, Dr. Donald Edwards of Dixon.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by her sister, Rosanne Edwards.
Visitation will be on Friday, October 28, 2016, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Jones Funeral Home in Dixon, IL.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016, beginning with a 10:30 a.m. prayer service in the Jones Funeral Home in Dixon, IL.
Following will be an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Dixon, IL, with the Rev. Bernard Sehr, Pastor, officiating.
Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to St. Mary’s School and Dixon High School Athletic Boosters.
Junemarie’s family wishes to thank the Staff at Liberty Court for the loving care and compassion they have provided for the last seven years.
