June E. Sharer, age 87, died Friday, April 17, 2026, at Allure of Walnut, in Walnut, IL.
June was born on January 27, 1939, in Wyanet, IL, the daughter of Ellard and Mildred (Sloan) Smith. She married Robert Sharer on December 16, 1962, in Princeton, IL. He preceded her in death on October 24, 2013. June worked for three years at the telephone company in Princeton prior to her marriage. She attended Sauk Valley Community College, where she received her Nurses Aide training. June was employed as an Aide with Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton, Exceptional Care in Sterling, IL, and Pleasant View Nursing Home in Morrison, IL.
Survivors include her daughter, Rebecca Sedols of Sterling; sons, Keith Sharer of Cold Spring, MN, and Robert Sharer of Rock Falls, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter in law, Mary Ann Sharer; son, Miles Sharer; sisters, Alice Smith and Patricia Carlson; brothers, David and Ellard Smith.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
A gathering of family and friends will take place from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at Amazing Grace Church, 512 2nd Avenue, Sterling, IL.
Memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Kristy Pipes officiating.
