Starting on Wednesday, June 8, 2016, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., the Educators at the Windmill Cultural Center will be serving treats. Every Wednesday through August 31, treats made from windmill flour, coffee, and tea will be served.
After visiting several European windmills who have a “tea time,” which is enjoyed by both locals and visitors, Educators decided it was time to do that in Fulton. The featured treat for Wednesday, June 8, will be banana bread. On June 15, rhubarb bread will be served, and on June 22, Banket–a Dutch pastry made with almond paste–will be available.
Volunteer bakers will make fresh treats every week from flour that is ground at Fulton’s de Immigrant Windmill. Donations will be accepted for these refreshments.
The Windmill Cultural Center is located at 111 10th Avenue, Fulton, IL.
