06-01-15 at 7:31 p.m. Ruben Morales, Jr., age 37 of Elgin, IL, was stopped by Deputies on I-88 at milemarker 17 for speeding. He was arrested for Speeding 86/70 MPH and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle with a mandatory court appearance required.
06-01-15 at 9:34 p.m. Colin J. Mix, age 28 of Erie, IL, was arrested for Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle with a mandatory court appearance required, after Deputies stopped his vehicle for an inoperative headlight on U. S. Route 30 east of Morrison, IL. He received a written warning for the headlight violation as well as fraudulent use of registration.
06-01-15 at 10:15 p.m. Benjamin H. Eagle, age 34 of Clinton, IA, was arrested for speeding 63/45 MPH and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, with a mandatory court appearance required. He was also given a written warning for residency issues.
06-01-15 at 10:35 p.m. Kenneth J. Hagge, age 59 of FultonIL, was arrested for two counts of DUI, Illegal Transportation of Alcohol, and Speeding 55/45 MPH, following a traffic stop on U. S. Route 30 at Dakin Road. He was processed at the Fulton Police Department and released on bond. Fulton Police and Midwest Collision assisted on scene.
06-02-15 at 3:45 a.m. Following a citizen’s report of suspicious activity on Albany Road near Thome Road, Deputies investigated a vehicle roll-over crash. Katrina J. Silva, age 33 of Sterling, IL, was arrested for two counts of DUI, Driving While License Revoked, Improper Driving on Shoulder of Roadway, and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle. She was processed at the Whiteside County Jail. The investigation continues. Midwest Collision assisted on scene.
06-02-15 at 7:31 p.m. Whiteside County Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of Morrison, IL. Upon further investigation, Chad T. Russell, age 44 of Rock Falls, IL, was arrested for Driving While License Suspended. Russell was transported to the Whiteside County Jail for processing and was released with a Notice to Appear. 06-03-15 at 12:38 a.m. Whiteside County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Moline Road near the intersection of Highway Court in the Village of Erie, IL. During the investigation of the stop, Bradley S. Howard, age 24 of Erie, was arrested for Improper Driving on the Shoulder of the Road, two counts DUI, and Resisting a Peace Officer. Howard was transported to the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office, where he was processed and released on a Notice to Appear. The vehicle was removed from the scene by R & K Towing.
06-05-15 at 9:15 p.m. Palaniappan Rajendran, age 39 of Appleton, WI, was stopped for speeding on I-88 at milepost 34 and arrested for Speeding 94/70 MPH plus Speeding – Construction Zone with a mandatory court date.
06-06-15 at 12:00 a.m. Whiteside County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on U. S. Route 30 near the intersection of Millard Road. During the investigation of the stop, Jacob D. Olalde, age 22 of Morrison, IL, was arrested for Improper Lane Usage, Speeding, two counts DUI, Illegal Transportation of Alcohol, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Cannabis Less than 2.5 Grams. Olalde was transported to the Sheriff’s Office, where he was processed and released on a Notice to Appear. The vehicle was removed from the roadway by Midwest Towing.
06-06-15 at 12:01 a.m. Calvin R. Nutt, age 59 of Sterling,IL, was arrested for Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle and given a mandatory court appearance, after a traffic stop for an inoperative headlight on U. S. Route 30 near Kickapoo Road, Sterling.
06-06-15 at 12:28 a.m. Malory T. Vancil, age 25 of Sterling, IL. was arrested for Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle with a mandatory court appearance required, following a traffic stop on U. S. Route 30 at Prophet Road for defective exhaust, improper lane usage, inoperative registration light, and failure to notify the Secretary of State of an address change.
06-06-15 at 7:29 p.m. Travis A. Schipper, age 21 of Morrison, IL, was stopped in Lyndon, IL, for obstructed registration and arrested for Driving While License Suspended, Obstructed Registration, and Illegal Transportation of Alcohol. He was bonded on scene. R & K Towing assisted on scene.
06-06-15 at 8:20 p.m. A 17-year-old Male from Prophetstown, IL, was arrested in Lyndon, IL, for Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, following a traffic stop for an inoperative taillight.
06-06-15 at 8:37 p.m. Alicia M. Wetzell, age 39 of Lyndon, , IL, was arrested for two counts of Failure to Secure Child; Under 8 years of age. She was bonded on scene pending a future court date.
06-06-15 at 8:50 p.m. Whiteside County Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of Lyndon, IL. Upon further investigation, Diane S. Walters, age 51 of Prophetstown, IL, was arrested for Driving While License Suspended. Walters was released from the scene with a Notice to Appear and a future court appearance. 06-06-15 at 9:16 p.m. Deputies responded to a rural Rock Falls, IL, residence for a dispute. Wilton R. Wilbanks, age 28 of Rock Falls was arrested for Aggravated Battery – Peace Officer, Resisting/Obstructing a Peace Officer with Injury, Resisting/Obstructing a Peace Officer. He was remanded to the Whiteside County Jail.
06-06-15 at 11:53 p.m. Whiteside County Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of Sterling, IL, for an equipment violation. Upon further investigation, Andrew M. Sparapani, age 19 of Sterling, was arrested for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Sean P. McCormick, age 20 of Sterling, was arrested for Possession of Cannabis Less than 2.5 Grams; Collin J. McGinn, age 20 of Sterling, was arrested for Unlawful Possession of Alcohol by a Minor. 06-07-15 at 1:24 a.m. Whiteside County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Moline Road near the Yorktown Road intersection. During the investigation of the stop Amanda P. Baeza, age 21 of Rock Falls, IL, was arrested for Improper Lane Usage, Speeding, Operating Uninsured Vehicle, and two counts DUI. Baeza was transported to the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office, where she was processed and released on a Notice to Appear. The vehicle was removed from the scene by William’s Towing.
06-07-15 at 6:39 p.m. Deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash with injury at IL Route 40 at Science Ridge Road, Sterling, IL. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that a vehicle driven by Joseph M. Mikan, age 34 of Reynoldsburg, OH, was traveling eastbound on Science Ridge Road, when he failed to yield from a stop sign at the intersection. His vehicle struck a southbound vehicle on IL Route 40 driven by Nicole L. Dettman, age 30 of Sterling, and caused it to roll over, landing upright. The occupants in the Mikan vehicle were uninjured, whereas Nicole was transported by CGH EMS to CGH for treatment of her injuries. Mikan was cited for Failure to Yield from a Stop Sign. CGH EMS, Sterling Police, Sterling Fire, and Slim-n-Hank’s assisted on scene.
