Relay For Life of Whiteside County will hold its annual American Cancer Society event at Westwood Sports Center, 1900 Westood Drive, Sterling, IL, on Saturday, June 8, 2019.
Registration begins at 4:00 p.m., and activities open; the event concludes about 10:00 p.m.
The public is invited to celebrate cancer survivors and honor those who lost their lives to this disease.
Survivor First Lap Cancer survivors are encouraged to register no later than 4:45 p.m. to participate in the opening lap. All survivors who register will receive a free Survivor T-shirt. They will receive a cupcake after the first lap, to celebrate one more birthday achieved.
Luminaria Ceremony Luminaria sales will end at 7:30. The name of every recipient of a luminaria purchase will be read and scrolled on a large screen during the 8:00 ceremony.
