Clinton Symphony Orchestra’s annual June Pops Concert is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., Sunday, June 3, 2018, in the shell at Riverview Park in Clinton, IA. The concert is free and open to the public.
“The free concert is a thank you to the area, for support during the recently completed concert season,” Executive Director Robert Whipple said. The program will include light music from the stage, screen, and TV, as well as patriotic music and marches.
Forty-five musicians of the orchestra and conductor Brian Dollinger will perform. The performance is partially underwritten by a grant from the Clinton County Development Association.
Clinton’s Felix Adler Children’s Discovery Center will have activities for the younger concert-goers starting at 5:30. Listeners are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and maybe a picnic lunch and refreshments. Several food vendors will be near.
The concert marks the end of the Symphony’s 64th concert season. It follows the organization’s major fund-raiser, “A Symphonic Affair” on Friday, June 1, for which reservations are still open at 563-357-9656.
Rainsite for the Pops Concert is under the U. S. Bank building at 405 S. 3rd Street, in Clinton.
