June 28 Sheriff’s Office Crash Report

On 6/28/20 at 7:12 p.m., Whiteside County Deputies responded to the area of Freeport Road at Fulfs Road for a two-vehicle traffic crash.  Upon further investigation, a Dodge Ram 1500 driven by Samantha Grinnell, age 21 of Freeport, IL, was traveling northbound on Freeport Road in rural Sterling, IL.  The second vehicle, a KIA Sportage driven by a 17-year-old female of Sterling, and two 17-year-old female passengers of Sterling, were stopped at the stop sign on Fulfs Road at the intersection with Freeport Road.  The KIA failed to yield the right of way to the Dodge entering the intersection.  The Dodge was unable to avoid a crash, impacting the KIA’s driver side.  All occupants were transported to CGH Medical Center for injuries.  Illinois State Police, Sterling Fire Department, CGH EMS, and Rock Falls Fire EMS assisted on scene.
