The public is reminded that these are merely charges, and all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

06-25-15 at 10:45 p.m.  Whiteside County Deputies responded to a single vehicle roll-over crash involving a semi tractor-trailer on I-88 at milemarker 22, with no occupant injuries.  The rolled over semi-tractor trailer was also noted as blocking both westbound lanes.  During the course of the investigation, Deputies learned from the driver, Marco T. Lenis, age 40 of Rockton, IL, that he fell asleep while driving westbound.  The unit entered the median, struck a guardrail, and then impacted a bridge face, before one of the double trailers flipped over.  Marco will be cited for Improper Driving on the Shoulder of a Roadway with a May Appear Citation.  I-88 westbound traffic was diverted for approximately 2.5 hours.  Prophetstown Police, Erie Police, Morrison Police, Illinois State Police, Erie Fire Protection District, Erie EMS, Illinois Department of Transportation, and Ince’s Towing assisted on scene.

06-26-15 at 3:44 a.m.  Frederick L. Clifton, age 53 of Rock Falls, IL, was arrested in Morrison, IL, following the complaint of a trespass situation at a rural Morrison residence.  Clifton was ultimately arrested for Criminal Trespass to Real Property and DUI, with test results pending from the Illinois State Crime Lab.  He was processed and released on bond from the Whiteside County Jail.
