On Monday, June 24, 2024, at approximately 4:09 p.m., Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office Telecommunications received a 911 call, reporting a two-vehicle crash at U. S. Route 30 and Illinois Route 136, in Fulton, IL. Initial investigation by the sheriff’s Office determined a red Hyundai, driven by 79-year-old Wayne Kubert of Morrison, IL, was traveling southbound from Illinois Route 136 to Frog Pond Road. Kubert failed to yield to traffic on U. S. Route 30 and proceeded through the intersection, after stopping at the stop sign. There, Kubert’s vehicle impacted a silver Pontiac, which was westbound on U. S. Route 30. The driver of the Pontiac, along with two adult occupants and two juvenile occupants, were all transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation. Kubert was cited for Failure to Yield at a Stop Sign Intersection. This charge is merely an accusation, and all parties are innocent until proven guilty.
Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by Fulton Police Department, Fulton Fire/EMS, Clinton Fire/EMS, and Downtown Auto Clinic.
On Monday, June 24, 2024, at approximately 5:02 p.m., Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office Telecommunications received a 911 call, reporting a subject lying near a tree at the Science Ridge Mennonite Church, in rural Sterling, IL. Original callers reported the subject was unresponsive to their questions. Responding Deputies checked the welfare of the individual, later identified as 38-year-old Aminda Minssen. Minssen had an outstanding Henry County Failure to Appear warrant and was arrested on such. Minssen was remanded to the Whiteside County Jail to await pickup.
