Morrison Police Chief Brian Melton reports the following Arrests made and Citations issued since Friday, June 23, 2017.
Arrests: On Friday, June 30, 2017, Morrison Police received numerous reports of vehicle burglaries, all occurring in the southwest area of Morrison, IL, to include W. Morris, W. South, W. Park, S. Hall, and S. Grape Streets. During these burglaries, three vehicles were set on fire, causing interior damage to the vehicles. Three other vehicles were vandalized with a Sharpie marker. Various items, such as cash, cigarettes, music CD’s, keys, a tablet, flashlights, softball bats, and other items were taken from the vehicles. Thus far in this investigation, 26 victims reported burglaries. The Illinois State Police Crime Scene Investigation Unit assisted the Morrison Police. The investigation continues with charges pending.
On Sunday, July 2, 2017, at approximately 5:30 p.m., Morrison Police received a complaint of an underage drinking party at 502 S. Genesee, Morrison, IL. Upon arrival to the scene, Morrison Police immediately placed approximately 15 teenagers in custody as part of the investigation. Those teenagers were later released, with those age 17 and younger released to their parents. The Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Morrison Police. The investigation continues with charges pending.
