Two blocks of 100 East and 100 West Main Street, Morrison, IL, were reserved for the annual, summer Car Show, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., on Saturday, June 22, 2024. All vehicle owners were invited to Ron Weimer’s “always fun; always free” summer show.
Weimer has organized Morrison car shows for 21 years. He stated, “I’ve never charged anybody a single dime to be in our show. I’m hoping for a good turn-out.” Unfortunately, predicted stormy weather likely kept some from attending, but the event was held under clearing skies.
The Editor noticed an unusual, bold, gray car and asked the owners to tell its story. Roxane Wancket and Curtis Ebersohl own a 2012 Chevrolet Camaro, model 255, a 45th Anniversary edition. There are just 48,000 miles registered on the odometer; it is not driven in the winter. The body is gently curved but substantial; large, Michelin tires are appropriate for this “fast” car. It features a Texas Speed camshaft and supporting components; Kooks long tube headers; Borla Atak exhaust; K and N Long Tube headers. It was tuned by The Extra Mile Car Service.
Most noticeable is the semi-matte finish. The vehicle is not painted. It is Apex vinyl wrapped in “Incognito Grey.” Ebersohl does not wash his car; if it gets dirty, he dusts it with a Swifer! A car wrap, when cared for correctly, can remain vibrant and scratch-free for many years.
