The City of Fulton and Awesometown Music are proud to announce Fulton’s 3rd Annual Bluegrass Festival on Saturday, June 20, 2015, from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m., down in Wierenga’s Heritage Canyon, at 515 N. 4th Street, in Fulton, IL. Local band “Bottom Shelf Whiskey” will perform, as well as festival favorite “Dirt Simple.” The Wise Apple Riders will bring you back in time with their old-timey music, and six-piece “electric” bluegrass band “The Dirty Beet Brothers” will close the show. National touring bluegrass band “The Blackberry Bushes String Band” will travel from Seattle, WA, just to play in beautiful Heritage Canyon. This band will take the stage at 3:00 p.m.
M and M Chops will serve wood-fire grilled Angus steak burgers, rib-eye steak sandwiches, butterfly pork chop sandwiches, nachos, and drinks. The Early American Crafters will serve water, ice cream, and popcorn at the General Store as they take you to the days of old. The group reenacts life in the 1800’s all afternoon in the old time church, schoolhouse, and stores.
Just for the kids, local artist “Rhiannon” will apply face paint and temporary tattoos for donations. The one-and-only “Hopeless Hobo” will entertain the kids. Musicians will be on staff to help kids learn all about music in the “Awesometown Music Petting Zoo.”
Bring your insect repellant, lawn chairs, and blankets, while you enjoy the music all afternoon. Tickets are $10 at the gate, with kids 13 and under free. Park downtown in the assigned areas, and take the “Bluegrass Express” shuttle bus to and from the Canyon.
