July 27 Morrison Police Report

Morrison Police Chief Brian Melton reports the following Arrests made and Citations issued since Friday, July 27, 2018.

Arrests:  On Sunday, August 5, 2018, at approximately 1:00 p.m., Morrison Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Dalton J. Gray, age 24 of Morrison, IL, on S. Grape Street at W. Morris Street, Morrison, for a moving violation . As a result of the traffic stop, Gray was arrested pursuant to an Arrest Warrant issued by Whiteside County, charging Gray with Failure to Appear-Suspended Registration.  Gray was additionally charged with Operating Motor Vehicle with Suspended Registration and Unlawful Possession of Cannabis (< 10grams.)  Gray was transported to the Whiteside County Jail.

On Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at approximately 6:45 p.m., Morrison Police received a complaint of a reckless driver traveling eastbound on U. S. Route 30 into Morrison, IL.  A second complaint then was received that the same reckless driver was involved in a motor vehicle crash at Express Lane (Shell) in Morrison.  As a result of the investigation, Morrison Police arrested and charged Shane S. Higdon, age 44 of Morrison, with Driving Under the Influence of Drugs and Unlawful Possession of ammunition.  Higdon was transported to the Whiteside County Jail.

On Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at approximately 6:00 p.m., Morrison Police responded to a possible domestic dispute in the alley area of 404 W. Park Street, Morrison, IL.  As a result of the investigation, Morrison Police arrested Lynette S. (Decker) Makl pursuant to an Arrest Warrant issued by Rock Island County, charging Decker with Larceny.  Decker was transported to the Whiteside County Jail.

On Thursday, August 9, 2018, at approximately 5:21 a.m., Morrison Police received a complaint of a Violation of an Order of Protection at 15279 Sawyer Road, Morrison, IL.  As a result of the investigation, Morrison Police arrested and charged Eric W. McFarland, age 40 of Ottumwa, IA, with Unlawful Violation of an Order of Protection and Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine (< 5 grams.)  McFarland was transported to the Whiteside County Jail.

On Friday, August 10, 2018, at approximately 9:39 p.m., Morrison Police received a complaint of a suspicious person at 636 E.Lincolnway, Morrison, IL.  As a result of the investigation, Morrison Police arrested and charged Matthew T. McCole, age 36 of Morrison, with Disorderly Conduct.  McCole was transported to the Whiteside County Jail.

On Tuesday, August 14, 2018, Morrison Police arrested Brian L. Dunn, age 35 of Morrison, IL, pursuant to an Arrest Warrant issued by Whiteside County, charging Dunn with Failure to Appear-Driving While License Revoked/Driving Under the Influence.  Dunn was transported to the Whiteside County Jail.

On Wednesday, August 15, 2018, Morrison Police arrested Tyler R. Engelkins, age 31 of Morrison, IL, pursuant to an Arrest Warrant issued by Whiteside County, charging Engelkins with Failure to Pay/Appear-Armed Robbery.  Engelkins was transported to the Whiteside County Jail.
