July 26 Morrison Police Report

Morrison Chief of Police Brian Melton reports the following Arrests made and Citations issued since Friday, July 26, 2019.

Arrests:  On Monday, July 22, 2019, at approximately 7:26 p.m., Morrison Police responded to Water Works Park for a fight.  As a result of this ongoing investigation, Morrison Police issued City Ordinance violations to Anthony Perez-Rodriquez, age 19 of Morrison, IL, and Zachary L. Cartwright, age 20 of Morrison, charging both with Public Fighting.  The Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office assisted Morrison Police in responding to this incident.

On Friday, July 26, 2019, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Morrison Police arrested Seth D. Peterson, age 19 of Morrison, IL, charging Peterson with Battery (Class A Misdemeanor), as the result of an investigation from an incident which occurred on July 20, 2019.  During this arrest, Morrison Police discovered Peterson to be in possession of alcohol and was subsequently charged with Unlawful Possession of Alcohol by a Minor (Class A Misdemeanor.)  Peterson was transported to the Whiteside County Jail.

On Sunday, July 28, 2019, at approximately 11:24 p.m., Morrison Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Ashley L. Edge, age 29 of Rock Falls, IL, for expired registration.  The traffic stop occurred on E. Knox Street at N. Jackson Street in Morrison, IL.  As a result of the investigation during the traffic stop, Edge was issued citations for Expired Registration and Driving While License Suspended.  Edge was also charged with Obstructing Identification (Class B Misdemeanor.)  Edge was transported to the Whiteside County Jail.

The public is reminded that these are merely charges, and all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
