July 25 Block Party on W. Main Street

A Morrison, IL, committee, called the “Department of Fun,” recognizes our Main Street is shaping up beautifully.  Volunteer members are Amanda Cook, Carrie Melton, LeAnn Schaefer, Nick Volkmann, and Dr. Bradley Yaklich.  Their plans are set to showcase the opening of the new 200 block of W. Main Street–from Orange-to-Base Streets.  Join your community downtown, for a family-friendly, Morrison Main Street Block Party, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., on Sunday, July 25, 2021.  Included are games, prizes, food, water events, and fun!

Businesses on the block worked hard to plan a great event for Morrisonians of all ages.  Events follow.

Stop by the Dunk Tank for a chance to dunk Chief of Police Brian Melton; several of his Officers; Whiteside County Sheriff John Booker; a local Illinois State Trooper.  The men are volunteering as a fundraiser for a local project/organization, yet to be determined.  Make a donation and take aim.

Splash around with the Morrison Fire Department’s Beach Ball Water Wars and other fun, water activities.

The City of Morrison will hand out their famous slushies for free.

At Extreme Image Salon, MHS cheerleaders will paint faces.  Enter a raffle to win a summer basket.

TBK Bank offers Pick Up a Duck, Spin to Win, and more games.

Visit the Morrison Chamber pocket park area, for a selfie photo booth, leis, and music.

Yarbrough Appliance has invited familiar, spooky characters ready for the beach.  Be on the lookout!

China House will be open to serve delicious Chinese food.

Tegeler Accounting Services personnel offer a Limbo Contest, Corn Hole (bag toss), and more games.  Check out their summer, beachy window decor.

Holly’s Dogs, Sweet Butts Cotton Candy, and Dairy Mart will be onsite.  Celebrate this exciting event with hot dogs, cotton candy, and tacos.
