On Sunday, July 17, 2022, Morrison Historical Society Board of Trustees will host Bailey Callahan, of Moline, IL, to discuss an Honor Flight initiative for female veterans.

All past and current female military personnel are encouraged to attend this presentation. Any Honor Flight participants are cordially invited to share their experience viewing military monuments in the Washington, D. C. area.

Doors open at 1:00 p.m., and the program begins at 1:30. Morrison’s Heritage Museum is located at 202 E. Lincolnway, Morrison, IL. There is no admission fee; refreshments will be served in the air conditioned Hearth Room. The building is accessible to all from the ramp behind the building.

Callahan is First Vice President of Illinois Society of Children of the American Revolution (CAR.) As such, she supports the State Project of CAR President Elle Hohmeier, of Downers Grove, IL. This year-long goal is to raise funds to send a second flight of women veterans to experience the Capital memorials.

The first female Honor Flight left Midway Airport on October 6, 2021, from Chicago, IL. It carried 93 women veterans of WWII, the Korean Conflict, and Vietnam. Their ages ranged from 63 to 104 years old!
